Capri is one of Italy’s most enchanting island destinations — dramatic cliffs rising out of the Tyrrhenian Sea, blue grottoes that glow with otherworldly color, lemon groves heavy with fruit, and quaint piazzas alive with café culture. Whether it’s your first trip or your fifth, Capri promises timeless beauty, vibrant local life, and La Dolce Vita at every turn.

Dining on Capri:

Best Places to Eat

Capri’s food scene is a delicious blend of fresh seafood, Mediterranean flavors, and classic Italian favorites. Here are some top experiences to savor:
  • Traditional trattorie offering fresh pasta, seafood, and local specialties like insalata Caprese and rich limoncello.

  • Seaside lunch spots at Marina Piccola — perfect for fresh fish with sea views.

  • Local cafés around the Piazzetta for an espresso or gelato break while people-watching.

Capri dining isn’t just about the food — it’s about the experience: sunset sea breezes, limestone terraces, and the relaxed Mediterranean way of life.

How to Get to Capri

Reaching Capri is simple and scenic. From Naples or Sorrento, regular ferries and high-speed hydrofoils carry visitors across the sparkling Tyrrhenian Sea in under an hour. Travelers from Rome can take a train to Naples, then continue by boat. The journey itself is part of the magic—blue waters, coastal cliffs, and your first glimpse of Capri rising from the sea.

  • Ferries and hydrofoils run regularly from Naples, Sorrento, and other nearby towns along the Amalfi Coast. From Naples, the trip usually takes about an hour; from Sorrento, about 20–30 minutes.

  • Hydrofoils are faster and ideal for day trippers.

  • Charter boats or private transfers offer a more flexible and luxurious arrival.

Best Time to Visit

Capri’s peak season runs from May through September when sea weather is perfect and ferries run frequently. For fewer crowds and cooler weather, spring and early fall are ideal.
